We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals that have a strong desire to become a certified John Deere diesel technician.The C & B Ag Diesel Apprenticeship is a unique opportunity for mechanically minded individuals to gain an advanced knowledge of Ag Diesel Technology without the traditional technical school format or expense. Candidates who are accepted into the program will gain paid full-time employment at one of our 3 Idaho John Deere dealership locations and be paid for both their training and working time. Individuals must commit to a rigorous training schedule comprised of (1) personal instruction through John Deere University online courses, (2) concentrated instructor-led training and (3) competency based on the job learning.Occasional travel and overnight stays are required to access critical training resources and to accommodate the accelerated pace of instruction.Upon demonstration of all required competencies, apprentices will receive a Certificate of Apprenticeship in Ag Diesel Technology.C & B offers a progressive pay schedule where you will receive compensation increases as you complete program competencies, immediate eligibility to a comprehensive fringe benefits package, uniforms and tool allowances. Essential Duties:Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural farm equipmentParticipates in Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeCompletes all job notes required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time on a digital timecard and for all material used in performing assigned dutiesMaintains current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipmentPromotes and sells the service department to customers including service work, inspections, and parts to increase customer safety and satisfactionFollows all safety procedures and works in a safe mannerAssists with other duties that may be assignedQualifications: Ability to meet physical demands and duration of physical exertion generally required to perform tasks in support of all job functions, for example - sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pullingAbility to work in a team environmentAbility for critical thinking and resourcefulness to complete tasksWillingness to learn and train in new technologiesValid Drivers License and a safe driving recordHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredstrong desire to become a diesel techniciangreat work ethicPreferred qualifications include a mechanical background, experience in the agricultural industry and working on John Deere productsBenefits:Qualified applicants must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and background check.
