Overview

As the Food Service Coordinator at Koala Kids Academy you would be reposinsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritionally based meals and snacks to the children enrolled. Ages may range from one year old to 12 years old. The starting pay for this position is $16.10/hr.

Responsibilities

Essential

• Plan, prepare and serve nutritional meals according to the USDA food guidelines to children enrolled at Koala Kids Academy.
• Purchase food items, place orders and account for inventory items.
• Be able to budget appropriately, plan the menu accordingly, and stay within budget guidelines.
• Set up physical environment to meet the needs of proper food preparation and safety.
• Maintain a clean environment in kitchen and food storage area.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly maintenance responsibilities regarding kitchen and storage areas.
• Responsible for CACFP paperwork which includes production sheets, daily attendance/meal counts.
• Provide typed monthly menu plan to the childcare director.
• Complete CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Complete fingerprint clearance and criminal record check.
• Take the place of the Manager in her/his absence when purchasing food items and supplies.
• Attend monthly staff training meetings.
• Plan, prepare and implement training meetings regarding the Food Program, proper food handling guidelines, meal count sheets etc. For staff members. (CACFP workshop mandatory).
• Help out in classrooms when needed.
• Participate in family activities which include Christmas program, snack with parents, summer picnic and back to school nights.
• Complete monthly physical inventory.
• Standardizing CACFP recipes or preparing standardized recipes.
