The Environmental Technician supports the Environmental Manager in conducting construction site inspections, field audits, environmental audits, etc. The Environmental Technician helps to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promotes safe working conditions. The role involves assessing and monitoring potential environmental hazards and implementing measures to minimize or eliminate those hazards. The Environmental Technician also educates co-workers on safe practices, procedures and implements programs to reduce the company's environmental impact and promotes the Companys IIF culture. S/he is expected to spend a minimum of 80% of time in the field observing and coaching co-workers on proper environmental compliance. Serves as a resource to co-workers by answering questions about environmental issues. Embeds self with project teams and strategically dives in using a hands-on approach to improve project safety, quality, and productivity (SQP) and environmental compliance.
The Environmental Technician will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner:
Bachelors degree in STEM field or Occupational Safety and Health, or related field from an accredited college or university or 5 years of construction related experience
Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to use Adobe and Bluebeam preferred
Working knowledge of common regulations for concrete construction industry
Must have the ability to exert physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 20 pounds
