Job Description

• vSphere & Hyper-V Engineer to support IT workload migration projects within a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO).
• This subcontracting role will focus on migrating workloads from Broadcom VMware vSphere to Microsoft Hyper-V, ensuring compliance, performance, and reliability in highly regulated environments (e.g., GxP, FDA, EMA, HIPAA).
• The engineer will be responsible for assessing current VMware environments, designing target Hyper-V architectures, and executing migrations with proper change control, validation, and documentation aligned to regulatory requirements.
• Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and optimization across compute, storage, and networking layers, ensuring infrastructure security and compliance, and providing knowledge transfer with detailed runbooks and SOPs.
• The ideal candidate will have proven experience with VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM migrations, workload conversion tools, automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell), and storage/networking dependencies in virtualized environments.

Must Have Skills

• 5 years of hands-on experience VMware to Hyper-V migrations proven experience with VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM migrations, workload conversion tools, automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell), and storage/networking dependencies in virtualized environments.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with VMware to Hyper-V migrations in regulated industries, especially pharmaceuticals or CDMO 0 Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization operations, and familiarity with disaster recovery solutions and hybrid cloud integration are highly desirable.
