Job Title: Senior Material Handling Specialist

Summary: The Senior Material Handling Equipment Specialist will plan, develop, coordinate, and direct large engineering projects or a number of small projects with many complex features for a diverse client base which includes a number of Fortune 500 clients. You will be expected to assist on specific sales calls and proposals, make customer presentations and perform other duties as assigned. You will supervise, coordinate, and review the work of a small staff of engineers, other professionals, and technicians and estimate personnel needs and schedules and assign work to meet completion dates.

The Senior Material Handling Equipment Specialist will function as the company expert in material handling systems such as conveyors, ASRS, and other material handling systems.

Job Description:

• Use exhaustive knowledge in analyzing storage media, pick media, order profiles, pack profiles, SKU velocity profiles, order dynamics, and process flows.
• Develop end to end material handling systems solutions - specification, design, procurement, installation, and implementation of storage and material handling equipment and their relevant systems.
• Produce implementation plans, staffing models, and project investment estimates/budgets.
• Make presentations to key stakeholders and influence their decision making.
• Distribution center and/or plant layout, design and implementation.
• Understand WMS functionality, control systems, and help a client select systems for their integrated material handling equipment solutions.
• Act as a mentor to one or more material handling equipment specialists and taking a personal interest in their development.

Requirements:

• 10 years of Project Management experience for material handling equipment technologies inclusive of on-site project implementation of those technologies.
• Associates degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or similar with a minimum 10 years of experience in plant or distribution operations.
• Specification, procurement, design, and implementation of storage and material handling equipment (included but not limited to ASRS, conveyor systems, rack systems, etc.)
• Must possess strong analytical experience related to complex supply chain resources, distribution centers and/or plant operations (a high level of proficiency in MS Access or other database tools, MS Office and MS Project).
