Our client, a leading investment firm, is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join their team in El Segundo, CA! The role requires a strong knowledge of Fixed Income products or trading systems to lead critical technology initiatives within our investment firm. This individual will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex IT projects, partnering closely with portfolio managers, traders, operations, and technology teams to ensure that business objectives are met on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end project management for technology initiatives supporting Fixed Income and trading platforms.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and translate business needs into actionable technology solutions.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution in alignment with organizational strategy.
• Manage cross-functional teams including developers, QA, business analysts, and external vendors.
• Act as the liaison between technology and trading desk, ensuring alignment on priorities and deliverables.
• Monitor project risks and issues, providing proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
• Drive adoption of project management best practices, governance, and reporting across initiatives.
• Deliver clear and timely communication to senior leadership, stakeholders, and project sponsors.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or related field (MBA or PMP/Prince2 certification preferred).
• 7-10+ years of IT project management experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in Fixed Income or trading systems.
• Strong understanding of Fixed Income instruments (bonds, structured products, derivatives) and/or electronic trading workflows.
• Proven track record managing full project lifecycle for large-scale, business-critical technology initiatives.
• Experience with order management systems (OMS), execution management systems (EMS), market data, and trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Charles River, Aladdin, Calypso, Murex, etc.).
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to engage both technical teams and front-office professionals.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
• Strong vendor management experience.
