A rapidly growing AI-driven software startup in the energy sector is looking for a VP of Engineering to lead its expanding technical organization. This is a direct hire, full-time opportunity based in Midtown Phoenix, with a hybrid schedule (on-site four days a week, WFH Wednesdays).

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-funded organization that just closed a Series A round and is entering a major growth phase. The company is looking for a strong technical leader to drive architecture direction, scale engineering operations, and build high-performing teams. You'll collaborate closely with the executive team to shape product strategy while maintaining a hands-on connection with the technology. Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in leadership roles
• Strong background in Python, FastAPI, SQL, and React (or similar modern stacks)
• Proven experience building and scaling teams within a startup or growth-stage environment
• Ability to drive architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to align teams around vision=

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience working in AI, data-heavy, or automation-focused products
• Prior involvement in Series A-C growth phases or early-stage team development
• Background in cloud deployments, distributed systems, or on-prem/VM software delivery

The Offer

• Base Compensation: $210-230K
• 15% Bonus
• Equity Options (0.16-0.40%)
