GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Program Associate (PA) is a valuable member of the team, supporting CASA Sacramento's mission to advocate for local foster youth. Reporting to the Program Director, the PA provides administrative and program support to the Program, Development, and Operations teams, including data entry, recordkeeping, and management of confidential program materials. This role also offers opportunities to assist with outreach, volunteer engagement, and CASA fundraising events whileworking alongside a dynamic team of staff and volunteers. Experience working with youth or other vulnerable populations is encouraged. This is a hybrid position that works in office 2-3 days a week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, although equivalent work experience considered.
- Experience in an office setting, preferably social service, non-profit or court related program encouraged.
- Experience and knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated competency with computers, Word/Office Suite, and data entry. Excel is a plus.
- Demonstrated respect of all people regardless of socioeconomic background, culture, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or gender identity and expression and experience working with culturally diverse populations.

- Ability to work comfortably with a supervisory team comprised of professional staff and volunteers.

- Completion of the 40 Hours of CASA training.
- Background clearances: DOJ/FBI/CACI/DMV and National Sex Offender Registry check.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Support (70%) Support Recruitment and Training of Prospective Advocates. - Participate in outreach opportunities when requested.
- Prepare recruitment materials for outreach events.
- Scan and upload volunteer application documents from website.
- Assist Training Coordinator in setting up trainings (scheduling panelists, room set-up).
- Assist with volunteer engagement tasks, as needed.
Support Case Supervisors, Program Supervisor(s), and Program Director with: - Creation of business cards and badges for new Advocates.
- Managing outgoing mail to Advocates and case participants.
- Coordinating distribution of complimentary event tickets or items.
- Scanning, entering and uploading case related documents to database as needed.
- Following up with Advocates to update necessary volunteer file information.
- Assisting with grant related data collection and reporting.
- Preparing Birthday and CASAversary cards.
- Processing and submitting Making Memories requests.
Development Support (20%) - Prepare "Thank You" cards for donors.
- Participate in social media campaigns ("like", "share", "follow", etc.).
- Assist with community events (BDOG, Crab Dinner, Light of Hope, etc.).
- Participate in External Relations Committee subcommittee(s).
- Collaborate on blog and social media content, newsletters, and outreach campaigns.
Operations Support (10%) - Answer phone calls, provide agency information, and forward messages, as appropriate.
- Manage office supply inventory and requests.
- Manage office vendor visits (water, shredding, copier maintenance, etc.).
- Collect and distribute mail from CASA PO Box and court mailbox.
- Order business cards and CASA shirts for staff.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ensure confidentiality in all assigned activities.
- Assist management and other staff with respect to assigned projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
- Attend All-Staff meetings and scheduled 1:1 meetings with Program Director.
- Assist in volunteer appreciation events and fundraising events as needed.
- Attend staff development training as available.
This entry-level role with CASA offers the opportunity to learn about the child welfare and juvenile court systems while supporting CASA volunteers and staff. The position provides exposure to community partners, case planning and management, and committees focused on supporting foster youth. It also offers insight into nonprofit operations, including fundraising, communications, volunteer management, and community engagement. This permanent role has potential for advancement in case supervision, community outreach, and fundraising/development for a motivated, hard-working, team-oriented professional.
