Job Description Summary
We have an opening for a Business Development Specialist, Global Finance.

The Business Development Specialist supports and plays a key role in advancing Paul Hastings' business development and marketing initiatives for the Global Finance practice, including the Fund Finance and Hybrid Solutions groups. Working closely with attorneys and global business development team members, this role supports strategic marketing and profile-raising activities such as pitches and RFP responses, awards and directory submissions, events and sponsorships, client relationship tracking, research and other marketing collateral that strengthen the firm's position as a market leader in the global finance space.

Job Description

In this capacity, the Business Development Specialist will:

  • Develop and maintain marketing materials, including practice descriptions, web content, attorney bios and experience lists;
  • Work with attorneys and business development team members to draft and produce high-quality pitches, proposals and RFP responses;
  • Draft and coordinate submissions for legal directories, awards and rankings relevant to the firm's finance-focused practices;
  • Manage sponsorships and partnerships, ensuring the firm maximizes benefits and return on investment;
  • Conduct research on clients, prospects and competitors to support meetings and cross-selling opportunities;
  • Collaborate with the events team and attorneys to plan and execute client events, seminars and webinars. Maintain key contact mailing lists;
  • Assist with miscellaneous team initiatives;
  • Work with the marketing and communications teams on media relations, editorial projects, design and digital marketing initiatives;
  • Build comprehensive knowledge of Firm practice areas to effectively support marketing strategies; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Proficiencies:
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, including attention to detail and proofreading;
  • Solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients in order to function at a strategic level;
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications;
  • Knowledge of technologies, developments, trends and literature related to legal and professional services marketing fields;
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite;
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking and relationship management;
  • Proficiency in team building, project management and leadership skills; and
  • Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (required) with an emphasis in marketing, law or business;
  • At least 5 years of professional marketing experience (required);
  • Experience in financing and/or supporting a legal finance practice (preferred).
The salary wage range for New York that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $91,000 and a maximum of $116,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.

Employees will be provided with an excellent career opportunity in a collaborative environment, in addition to a generous total compensation package with the opportunity to earn bonuses based on individual contribution and firm profitability.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
