Social Services - Recreation Therapist - (RPT)

Description:

The Recreational Therapist is responsible for developing treatment plans, implementing and evaluating recreational therapy interventions and ensuring safe and appropriate therapeutic services.

Schedule: RPT

  • Variable shifts
  • 8:30am-5:00pm shift includesweekends on BHU as needed
Required Skills:

1. Provide safe and appropriate specialized programs

2. Assesses patients, develops and implements treatment programs to meet the goals of treatment services and patient needs

3. Establishes treatment goals

4. Evaluates therapy results and modifies treatment plans accordingly

5. Develops discharge plans in collaboration with patient, family and treatment team members

6. Participates as an active member of the treatment team

7. Participates in the department and service delivery unit's quality improvement programs

8. Evaluates and assists in procurement of needed resources

9. May assist in orientation, supervision and professional development of new staff and students

Minimum Work Experience:

1. 1 year of related experience (preferred)

Minimum Education:

1. Bachelor Degree with Concentration in Recreational Therapy

2. Other degrees may be considered, including Art, Music, Dance, or Physical Education

3. Current certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation (NCRTC), preferred.
